When not out gigging with his band the Red Rock Hot Club, luthier Rich D'Aigle spends his time handcrafting beautiful Selmer style guitars in his Salt Lake City workshop. This wonderful example of his work features a wide grained spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, stunning maple binding, and a walnut neck. The guitar has been outfitted with a DR tailpiece and a set of Grover Sta-Tite tuners. The fingerboard is completely free of fretmarkers, an elegant look which has been the trend among high end archtop builders. The interior is laminated and a bigtone pickup has been installed.
This guitar has an outstanding tone that is crisp and clear with singing highs and a gutsy, full bass. Crunchy and loud, this instrument will shine equally well on the concert stage or around camp fire. Furthermore, it plays very easily with low 2.8mm action.
The condition of this guitar is excellent. There are a fair amount of small dings and scratches, mostly around the pickguard and lower treble bout. There is some moderate fret wear as well. Otherwise, the guitar is very clean and in great playing condition!
This instrument is a fantastic deal as it's rare I have handmade guitars of this quality around $2000. The fact that it has a bigtone pickup as well only sweetens the deal!
