During 1970s/80s Maurice Dupont did his apprenticeship under Jacques Favino, and is therefore the only living luthier, other then JP Favino, who has the skills and knowledge to build a true Jacques Favino style guitar. Maurice even uses the original Favino molds to make the body!
The dimensions are classic Favino, featuring an extra wide 16 3/4" lower bout which adds bass response and volume. The scale length is 670mm and the body is just shy of 4" deep. The back and sides are crafted from a handsome piece of Indian rosewood and the top is constructed from select, finely aged French spruce.
The sound is pure old school Jacques Favino. It has the classic "honky"
Favino bark, thick mids, and a much deeper low end than
Selmers. The timeless sound and feel of this instrument transports you back to the smokey Gypsy bars of mid century Paris. Let this outstanding guitar take you back to yesteryear!
This used example is in excellent condition. It has numerous scuff marks and a few small dings but is otherwise very clean and new looking. There is some moderate fret wear but there still several years of life left in them.
This special model is normally $5000 new. Get this well preserved example for less!
