2012 Dupont MD50 Vintage

The MD50 is the workhorse instrument of Gypsy jazz. It has the most traditional Selmer like tone in this price range. Will give you all the power and punch you need and has fantastic playability as well. Traditional Selmer wood choices: French spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a walnut neck.

This example has the darker, tinted finish normally reserved for the Vieille Reserve model. This upgrade has been added at no extra cost. Looks stunning and sets this MD50 apart from the rest. Additionally, a bigtone pickup has been installed (a /0 value!)

Normally MD50s are quite bright and shimmmery. Interestingly, this example is one of the most balanced I've ever had. It produces a full, warm midrange that is wonderfully complex and satisfying. Perhaps it's the vintage finish? Not sure, but this MD50 is certainly a standout!

This used example shows some mild signs of wear, most notable a few scratches on the back and a few dings on the back binding. It has some light fret wear but still has many years of playing left before needing a refret.
