Thanks Michael, for putting me together with this beautiful guitar. Materials and workmanship are first rate. Playability is excellent and the sound is as advertised: everything I've hoped for. Also, the best of service: I ordered the guitar on a Sunday afternoon and it was at my doorstep on the East Coast, ready to play, Tuesday morning. Five Stars all around.

2002 Eimers Stochelo Rosenberg Model

2002 Eimers Stochelo Rosenberg Model
Over the past decade Leo Eimers has been one of the prominent builders of Selmer Maccaferri guitars in the Netherlands. Based in Almere, just outside of Amsterdam, Eimers builds his instruments entirely himself by hand. He is particularly well respected as a student of "Golden Age" luthiers such as Maccaferri, Selmer, Busato, and Favino. He uses his knowledge of these luthiers to build some of the most authentic and well constructed Selmer copies available. His instruments have been used by many professionals over the years, most notably Stochelo and Nous'che Rosenberg of the Rosenberg Trio, Robin Nolan, Boulou Ferre, and Wawau Adler.

This is the Stochelo Rosenberg signature model which is based on Stochelo's own vintage Selmer #504. Built to Stochelo's personal specs, it features standard Selmer dimensions and wood choices. The body is 15 3/4" wide and the scale length is 670mm. Materials include Indian rosewood back and sides, a European spruce top, a walnut neck, and rosewood binding. It is fitted with Schaller closed tuners and an SR tailpiece. Stochelo Rosenberg's name is inlaid into the headstock and the back of the headstock was personally signed and dated by Stocehlo.

The sound of this instrument is rich, with an open and full bodied tone. The mid range in especially prominent, allowing for full sounding chords and warm, rounded leads lines.

The condition of this instrument is very good. There are a number of small dings and scratches on the body. The bass side of the lower bout has some finish wear and checking. The frets look almost new, with very little wear. There is a small top crack between the soundhole and fingerboard and another longer surface crack on the top near the treble side of the bridge which has been glued and is stable.

This instrument is an excellent bargain as this model new would be over $1000 more, and that doesn't include the additional expenses of importing a guitar from Europe.
