2013 Hahl Jazz Supreme de Luxe ***NEW PRICE***

Stefan Hahl has long been revered as one of the top European luthiers, with a client list the includes such jazz luminaries as Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg, Dorado Schmitt, and Adrien Moignard. With over twenty years of experience, including a diploma from the prestigious Mittenwald Academy for Stringed Instrument Building, Stefan has refined the art of archtop jazz guitar construction to a high art that fuses the innovations of American builders like D'Angelico and D'Aquisto with the deep traditions of European luthiery. The result is something truly special in the guitar world, a uniquely European jazz guitar with a tonal palette and aesthetic beauty like none other.

This 17" Jazz Supreme de Luxe is Stefan's flagship model which is constructed from the very finest materials. It features a 60 year aged Alpine spruce top, master grade maple flamed back/sides and neck, and an ebony fingerboard. Hardware includes a set of Schaller Deluxe tuners, a carved cello style tailpiece, and a Bartolini mini-humbucker. An additional piezo pickup is also installed in the bridge, allowing for a stereo output of both the magnetic and piezo pickups.

The acoustic sound is lush and warm, with excellent definition and clarity. The midrange is wonderfully focused, allowing for precise chordal work while the highs are soft, and gently rounded which produces mellifluous single note lines. It projects very nicely, making it a great choice for unamplified acoustic playing. Plugged it, the Bartolini humbucker yields a fairly natural, clear tone that can be further enhanced by dialing in some of the piezo signal when need be.

Action is currently set at 2.6mm which allows for aggressive, buzz free acoustic playing while still being quite easy to play. However, the action could easily come down below 2mm for players with a lighter touch.

This used example is in perfect, mint condition. With a two or more year wait for Stefan's guitars, this ready to go instrument is all the more attractive.
