The claims made about audio quality and feedback resistance have proven to be true for me and my DuPont MDC50 D hole! My reasons for not providing a full 5 star review is that 1. the unit is expensive, and 2. the mounting and placement info were NOT adequate nor easy. Ischell X48 + CPJ

This unique contact mic is a dream come true! It allows you to play at high volumes while retaining the natural sound of a microphone. It's the best of both worlds, the natural sound of a microphone with the feedback resistance of a piezo pickup.

Just place the mic under the strings with the putty and place the jack on the tailpiece with double-sided adhesive.
No impact on the natural sound of the instrument.
No drilling or modifications, the system is removable.
This mic kit comes with a with a bass roll of switch: Flat/180Hz/360Hz.
Operates on phantom power.
XLR cable

This unit is very popular with artists in France, including Daniel Givone and Romane (who used it for recording the rhythm guitars in his latest album "Roots & groove live au sunset.")

Pros: High feedback resistance, great sound, removable installation

Cons: Difficult to properly position transducer

The claims made about audio quality and feedback resistance have proven to be true for me and my DuPont MDC50 D hole! My reasons for not providing a full 5 star review is that 1. the unit is expensive, and 2. the mounting and placement info were NOT adequate nor easy. My initial installed location corresponded with the instructions provided. Sound quality was not acceptable - very upper mid-rangy and brassy. I discovered that the resulting tone is drastically affected by both the location on the guitar body and the height above the soundboard, which is governed by the putty gasket. The difficultly in relocating the transducer was compounded by the initial locations being under the strings, which required string removal for each adjustment. Save yourself alot of trouble, and locate the transducer opposite the sound hole side of the bridge, about 5mm away, and directly over the lateral body brace which aligns with the contacting "foot" of the bridge, on the heavy string side. If you reach inside the body you can locate this brace by touch or an inspection mirror. I'd be happy to send a mounting location picture to anyone interested. Now that I have the unit installed in a good location the resulting tone with a small amount of EQ is truly as good as it gets. I have ran it LOUD with NO low freq. rolloff with great results. For comparison, I also tried a small lavalier mic (pro-70) with extreme EQ to kill feedback, sound quality didn't come near the Ischell.
