The MD50 is the workhorse instrument of Gypsy jazz. It has the most traditional Selmer like tone in this price range. Will give you all the power and punch you need and has fantastic playability as well. Traditional Selmer wood choices: French Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a Walnut neck.

Dupont is one of the most consistent builders out there with just about every guitar falling in the "superlative" category. But still, each one is a little different. What this particular MD-50 has is tone. Very rich, with thicker single note leads than most Duponts. Still crunchy and dry as well, but the leads are so warm and rounded.
