Eastman
archtops have earned a reputation as some of the best
sounding and playing jazz guitars available. Built using "old world"
construction methods, each instrument is meticulously hand crafted out
of the finest materials. The AR503CE features a hand carved, X
braced
top made of well aged spruce, laminate maple back and sides, and a three piece maple
neck. Aesthetically, this instrument takes inspiration from the
modern, "clean," cello inspired look of builders such as D'Aquisto and
Benedetto. The wood cello style tailpiece, dotless rosewood fingerboard,
Gotoh tuners, and nitrocellulose finish give the instrument a
sophisticated, timeless appearance. The built-in Seymour Duncan Seth Loves humbucking pickup can produces a warm, clean, classic jazz tone.
This model is an excellent choice for players seeking a
stylish yet roadworthy instrument that can produce classic jazz tones at high volumes.
The comfortable 16" body sits effortlessly in your lap while the built-in
pickup will keep feedback at bay. This guitar comes setup with D'Addario
12 gauge roundwounds and fairly low, 2mm action. However, this
instrument performs well with many types of setups, including
traditional bebop (14 gauge flatwounds and very low action) and swing
(higher action) setups. The solid top on this instrument produces a warmer, richer acoustic tone than laminate top models which results a more natural sound when played acoustic or electric.
Whether it's blazing bebop leads, fingerstyle ballads, or searing blues leads, this instrument can do it all! Come and experience the easy playability and tonal beauty of this highly versatile model yourself...

Pros: Great Sound - Gorgeous guitar
Cons: None
This is the best guitar I have ever owned. I have been playing for 60 years and only play fingerstyle chord melody style. The articulation of the notes is superb. This model has a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickup. After adjusting my modeling amp (fender Mustang GT40) to bring out the tonality I seek, this guitar sounds like melted butter. Easy to play. I use D'Addario Flat Wound Jazz Strings. Since this amp has small speakers and does not do justice to the bass end, I supplement the amp with Bose speakers that supply very smooth bass. All in all, a great combination of guitar, amp, and supplemental speakers. Buying through Django Books could not have been easier. I received this guitar less than 24 hours after I ordered it. Michael explained his company policies and processed my order in minutes.

Same thickness as the GP250 but smaller over all dimensions. Provides better control with out losing tone. Seems to work nicely on shorter scale guitars. 27.5 mm long, 23.3 mm wide, 2.5 mm thick. (two per pack).
