I'm real happy with my Loudbox Mini, beginning when I carry it to a gig, because it weighs only about 20 lbs. But I'm happy with its volume and tone, plus the fact that it has plugs for my 1/4 inch guitar jack, my 3-pin microphone jack, and my 1/8 inch iPod jack. Best of all, I can use all three of those jacks at the same time and the sound is still loud and clear. Plus there is a 3-pin jack for exporting the amp's signal to an external PA, which works quite well, too. I'd always thoug...

Fishman Loudbox Mini

Fishman Loudbox Mini
The Fishman Loudbox Mini is a standout in the ever more crowded micro-amp market. Although it is feather light at just shy of 20lbs, the Loudbox Mini's highly efficient 60 watt power section and 6 1/2" woofer provide the sort of tone and projection you'd expect of much larger amps. It is more than adequate for amplifying instruments in small to medium sized rooms while still being small and light enough to take on an airplane.

A feature rich acoustic amp

The Loudbox Mini is loaded with all the features that working acoustic musicians demand. It has a two channels, one has a 1/4" jack for instrument level inputs and the other has a balanced XLR input for mic level signals. Controls include two and three band EQs, effects (reverb and chorus), and an anti-feedback phase switch. There is also an aux line level input for an MP3/CD players as well as an XLR DI out.

An amp that's powerful, portable, and easy to use.

This is a great amp for musicians who don't need the earsplitting power of larger acoustic amps but don't want to give up the sound quality and flexibility of the higher end models. Fantastic for small restaurant and coffee house type gigs!

Loudbox Mini

I'm real happy with my Loudbox Mini, beginning when I carry it to a gig, because it weighs only about 20 lbs. But I'm happy with its volume and tone, plus the fact that it has plugs for my 1/4 inch guitar jack, my 3-pin microphone jack, and my 1/8 inch iPod jack. Best of all, I can use all three of those jacks at the same time and the sound is still loud and clear. Plus there is a 3-pin jack for exporting the amp's signal to an external PA, which works quite well, too. I'd always thought that amplifying an acoustic guitar realistically required a big woofer, but it turns out that the little 6 1/2 in. one in the Loudbox does the job perfectly. I was hesitant about ordering this online without actually having tried it, but it just so happened that they were selling the same thing at my local music store for about the same price as Djangobooks.com. So I tried it at the store and loved it, bought it there (sorry, Michael!) and have been using it quite happily ever since. I would recommend this to any GJ guitarist without reservation. I use mine in conjunction with a Morley foot pedal which gives me control over volume for rhythm and lead playing, and that works great, too. For me, the only way this unit could really be improved upon would be inclusion of a battery allowing it to function without AC power. Speaking as an acoustic type guitar player who resorts to amplification with great reluctance, I'd say this was probably the best money I ever spend on musical gear. If you're like me, you'll probably want to try it, but my feeling is that that won't be a problem because these little amps are going to start popping up like mushrooms where GJ music is played.
