This mystery guitar was hand made in North America by an accomplished
luthier. It is a prototype with a tiny surface crack on the lower bout
(was repaired and is not visible) and a small amount of nearly imperceivable
finish separation around the rosette. Other than these minor "flaws,"
this guitar is completely new and in perfect condition. A guitar of
this quality would normally sell for well over $3000. Here's an
opportunity to save big on a great hand made guitar!
The top is cedar, the back and sides are curly walnut, and the neck is walnut. The binding and fingerboard are ebony.
The dimensions are classic Selmer: 15 3/4" body, 670mm scale, 1 3/4" nut.
The tone is very balanced and warm, with gently rounded trebles and
some nice midrange depth. It has a very robust and resonant character
with lots of volume. The tone is relatively dry, with some nice crunch
when you need it. So often D holes are too bass heavy or wet sounding,
not so with this guitar which has the nice fullness of a D hole without
loosing its cutting power.
Action is set at 3.6mm and it is strung with 11 gauge Argentine strings.
Black Superior deluxe hardshell case included.
