This is Bob's first and only D hole. The body is standard Selmer size (15 3/4") and the scale is 670mm. However, the bracing is more akin to that of Busatos and Favinos.
This guitar is impossibly light at 3.4lbs! Most Duponts are around 4lbs, Dell Artes around 4.5 lbs.
The top is heat treated Carpathian spruce (same Romanian spruce that Selmer used), back and sides are East Indian Rosewood. The neck is made from a single piece of Walnut. There is no truss rod, but the neck is reinforced with carbon strips which will keep it eternally straight. The fingerboard is made of Rosewood. The sound of this guitar is nothing short of spectacular! As you would expect, the D hole thickens the low mids and bass. But not to the point that the guitar sounds muddy and dull, which is the downfall of so many D hole guitars. Instead, the the low end is "tight" and focused with a surly but appealing "growl." The tone is topped off with some high end sparkle that really makes the leads sing. And like all of Bob's guitars, it projects beautifully with minimal force.
