The Schertler Jam 400 is a joy to play and sing through. My guitars, both acoustic an electric sound better than I ever imagined. The crystal clear tone and array of dynamics mixed with the hearty reverb and effects is a buffet of tasty tone! Even the microphone output exceeded my expectations, adding a polished presence to my otherwise meager vocals. I just played a medium sized coffee house with a sax and congas and this little powerhouse put out a ton of sound with surprising separation and range...and the bass response is killer! I would recommend this amp to anyone needing a solo performance package with the ability to expand into a p.a. for a small band with plenty of headroom for a crowded bar or other noisy venue. Of course there’s also a line out to tap into the house system for a larger space. Additionally, it’s built like a Sherman tank and is impeccably designed. I’m an old tube amp fan and have resisted new technology for a long time, but now I’m a true believer in smaller speakers’ ability to produce gutsy sound. Django Books quick shipping and Michael’s sage advice were added value to my shopping experience.
