This is a nice, warm sounding pickup - well shielded with a fairly strong output. It's very well constructed and has a very clever and unusual mounting system. I found the instructions a bit difficult, but there are some helpful tutorials on youtube. Yves Guen Original Pickup ST48 (Oval Hole)

At long last, the original Stimer pickup is now available! This pickup is a reissue of the original design by Yves Guen. Yves' son, Christian, is now producing these wonderful pickups which adhere completely to the original design. They yield the same classic sound that Django and so many other great Gypsy players made famous. Christian did update the mounting system which utilizes an noninvasive magnetic clip which allows you to easily remove the pickup if need be.

Yves Guen ST48

Pros: great electric sound

Cons: instructions in English could be improved

This is a nice, warm sounding pickup - well shielded with a fairly strong output. It's very well constructed and has a very clever and unusual mounting system. I found the instructions a bit difficult, but there are some helpful tutorials on youtube. I also found that putty works fine for mounting the pickup, so using their mounting system is not totally necessary. The B string is a little louder and may be an issue for some players, but I found that it works just fine with Argentine strings and a little adjustment in the right hand. All in all, I like the pickup very much and does produce that electric Django sound.
