Gypsy jazz in the style of Django and Grappelli
Paul “Pazzo” Mehling is a Gypsy jazz legend and head of the Hot Club of SF. He has been performing and teaching gypsy jazz for decades, and many of the instructional DVDs out there for this genre feature Paul. If you or someone you know in the area wants to study gypsy jazz with a pro, this is a great chance to get hands-on education in the history, techniques, and nuances of gypsy jazz.
Silk Road Swing plays gypsy jazz and swing for the free and public dance on UW campus.
All are welcome to listen or dance.
Doors open at 7:00pm. There will be a beginner swing dance lesson starting at 7:15pm, and the band/social dance begins at 8:00pm. Whether you’ve never been on a dance floor or have danced your whole life, all skill levels are welcome.
Join Silk Road Swing at Anelia’s Kitchen & Stage for vintage jazz & bebop in the style of Django Reinhardt.
