Jazz Gitan Trio
A rare PHilly area appearance by an amazing Gypsy Jazz band. The RFQ is one of the top Gypsy Swing bands on the scene at this time. Their mission; to keep the spirit of Gypsy jazz alive and expanding in today’s musical universe. The virtuosic foursome, named for a Django Reinhardt tune, offers up a newly minted sound, influenced by the classic Hot Club of France, yet wholly contemporary. Led by violinist Jason Anick & guitarist Olli Soikkeli, the quartet performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse styles. Their last two shows here were SRO, so reserve your seat ASAP! [BTW, The HCPhilly is hosting the show at the Venetian Club. We only rent the space from them, so questions should be directed to Barry Wahrhaftig, not the venue].
