Where to get acetate for pick making?

JonJon melbourne, australiaProdigy Dupont MD50B, '79 Favino
Hi,

Would anyone here know where one would get small amounts of roughly 4mm thick acetate material? I've made a bunch of picks out of coconut, camel bone, buffalo horn, and 3 ply Ultem, but have yet to come up with anything I like better than my Wegen. I like the idea and process of making my own picks, and the Ultem ones were really good (thanks to Bob Holo for the idea - somewhere on this forum).

I've seen the Acetate Dugain picks described as being very close to tortoise, but can't seem to find a source for the material. Any Ideas? And while i'm at it, I also can't seem to work out how thick the Dugain acetate picks are...anyone know?

Thanks, Jon

I've had good results using 1/8 " polycarbonate [Lexan} which can be gotten from a glass shop. It comes in both clear and colors and is really tough compared to plexiglass and other plastics. Harry
