Hey Gang,

Just a quick heads up: It looks like my friend Andrew has got Lollo Meier and Tim Kliphuis booked for Django in June this year (June 16-18) in lovely Northampton, MA. It seems this will be Lollo's first trip to the states, so mark the date! And Tim-what do I have to say??

More updates as I get them...maybe I'll get to meet a few more of you guys.

Best,
Jack.

For some reason, when I try to type the number eighteen, I end up with a tiny face...those dates should be June sixteen to eighteen...

Wow, any chance he'll play elsewhere on the East Coast?

I read in Le Quecumbar website that for around 450$ it is possible to have a one-to-one class with Lollo. You can stay 4 days in a caravan next to Lollo and study with him. Has anyone experienced this?

    John

the reason he's doing django in june is because he will be in the east coast in first place (in the vermont area), he was looking for the gigs as well... dave kelbie emailed me for gigs in montreal, but i told him django in june would probably be a better idea

Lollo just emailed me...apparently he's the little boy you see to the right of Fapy in this video:

Pretty good place to be for an aspiring guitarist!

I went and stayed with Lollo and his wife the week before he played at Samois last year, then went to Samois. It was a very worthwhile experience, Lollo is a great player, tasteful but still exciting. I even took my wife and for slightly higher fee she hung out with Lollo's wife Susan while we played. The fee includes lessons, accommodation (in a caravan) and meals. I learnt so much about the mechanics and attitude of Manouche guitar, let alone the music itself. I highly recommend it. Go to his website and email Susan. http://www.lollomeier.nl

Speaking of Django in June, is there any information available on this year's event?
