Legrand’s “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” was the first foreign film I ever saw at age 14, and I loved it.

In fact I have a DVD of it which i still enjoy watching.

This opened up a love of French cinema which continues to this day.

I also enjoy playing Legrand’s lovely melody “I Will Wait For You”.

He was one of the good ‘uns!
Paul Cezanne: "I could paint for a thousand years without stopping and I would still feel as though I knew nothing."

Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."

Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."
