Sounds like a blazin' Bernie's Tune.

It's in one of the Real Books, though those changes are probably a bit different from the GJers.

    Yup,
Bernie's Tune composed by Bernie Miller...
    We perform it often...
It's a popular Nashville players tune...
    Like Buddy Spicher...
    Fiddle players love it...

at this rate, you'll be asking for all the other songs on the DVD...

so the piece he plays alone (solo guitar) is Ne Te Presse Pas , you can find it on Matelo Ferret's CD Tziganskaia or on moreno's latest CD if i'm not mistaken...

the piece he sings to his dad is called "you won't be satisfied"... there's a great version by ella and louis armstrong...

the song that his brother sings is called "pach tutte" you can find a video of it on am ketenes ' website, it's otherwise known as "Bei dir war es immer so schon"

the scene where a bunch of dudes are playing outside is called "them there eyes"... there's also a scene where jimmy is playing "carvan" with his brother nomie....

he plays improvisation no.1 when he gets out of jail...

that should cover almost everything in that documentary

There's a standard notation version here:

It's a pretty simple melody, good for working on reading!

    best,
    Jack.

I don't know-for some reason I can't hear the Jimmy piece on my computer right now. It's most often played in Bm, sometimes in Em. Here are some more sheets for comparison...have fun!

    best,
    Jack.
