Hey guys,

Anyone know what the short lick is Matelo plays between about :37 and :40 seconds in this video of Minch Valse? I've been obsessing about this lick for the longest time, and can't seem to figure out what he plays (even though it sounds quite simple).

Here's my stab at it. I'm not sure about the changes of the tune but the riff looks like an A major 7 riff to me, has a sixth too. Hope this helps.

Great video! Thanks for the posting it

Thanks Wowbob, I think you are spot on. I don't know why that 6 note lick was presenting so many hours of frustration for me, but I was playing it something like this, which I can see is wrong:

    --/9-9--11-9-----------------
    ---------------12-9-----------
    ----------------------9-8-----
    -------------------------------
    -------------------------------
    -------------------------------

Now that I hear what you were playing it makes quite a bit more sense. Many, many thanks!

I love that video. A perfect example of the Ferret's "Gypsy Sloppiness" that is so damn cool and full of attitude, and completely impossible to reproduce.
