Question on Australian Scene

Hi All

I will be in Sydney from Sept 5 to Sept 9 and the Perth area Sept 12 to 28.

If anyone knows of some good GJ acts to catch, clubs to visit or jams to partake in down under, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

You might just catch Lulo Reinhardt's tour. I believe there is an ensemble called Monsieur Cammebert as well

Hey, I just today returned from a trip to Australia! I didn't see any gypsy jazz there, but here are a few things I dug up when I was there:

* There's a guy called George Washingmachine in Sydney who plays gypsy jazz. He's recorded with the Pigalle 44 guys from the Netherlands. http://www.washingmachine.com.au/

* Lulo Reinhardt will be in Australia some time soon -- I saw some tour posters for this, so it'll probably be before your visit.

* On the off-chance you'll be able to make it to Melbourne, check out the Paris Cat, a cool 1930s-Paris-style basement jazz club. http://www.pariscat.com.au/
