Nylon String Gitane!!!!!

Tele295Tele295 San Buenaventura (Latcho Drom), CA✭✭✭ Gitane DG300, D500
The grande bouche nylon string Gitane looks like it will finally become a reality sometime before Christmas. Here's the leak from Saga, after persistent badgering:
Saga Musical Instruments Here is the leak: Some of have been asking about this mysterious new Lulo Reinhardt Nylon String Signature Gitane. This was built upon his request and features a Solid Port Orford Cedar top and Cypress back and sides. This particular Gitane is modeled exactly like the Original Concert Nylon String Selmer- Maccaferri, which Mario Maccaferri designed and performed for himself. The Lulo Reinhardt Signature Nylon String DG-560 Gitane will be in the market in the next 3 to 4 months.

Yes, I am picky, but this doesn't seem to be modeled exactly like Selmer Concert...

The original Concert had two-piece bone in the saddle for compensation, one piece for wound and the other for plain strings. The ones Maccaferri performed with had also the famous built-in internal resonator. Both features were Maccaferri's inventions, which he considered significant improvements. Finally, it wasn't "Nylon" in Maccaferri's days, since nylon wasn't yet used as string material back in the 1930's.

To me this Gitane looks like yet another common classical guitar with Maccaferri-like body shape and soundhole.

Any idea of a street price? It seems like we've been waiting for Gitane to put something like this out for a while. I know Park and Manouche have models, or used to -- it's been a while since this has been on my radar.

Cypress backs and sides... laminated ????
Spanish and Mediterranean (sp) varieties are getting scarce and expensive
    Perhaps it is Monterey.

Port Orford Cedar tops ?... Exceedingly difficult to get a permit to cut this in Oregon, even downfall.
When available, expensive. Why Port Orford ?

This is a flamenco guitar combination, and certainly not used on the originals.

I am surprized it does not have golpeadores (sp)

I don't get it . Why not use sitka or engelman (sp) and east Indian.

    Why the whacky wood combo.

It needs to very very good as it seems to have some serious elements that are a deterrent to purchase.

I am anxious to see a (an impartial) review.

Another new model and yet we wait for a simple upgrade to the DG500.

I was actually Facebook Chatting with Lulo 2 weeks ago and he gave me the scoop. He wasn't sure of the price at that time, but he was really loving the Prototype. I want one!!!
