No, all the silk and steels (from any brand) are ball end.

Nearly all Gypsy tailpieces are drilled. The DRs we have are great.

Yes, they are used on all the Dell Arte guitars, even the high end ones. The Duponts are even stronger (never had one break) but the Asian DR hold up well. Some have broke, but it's not common.
