Question about Stimer pickups

This be a foolish question, but would the weight and location of a Stimer pickup dampen the sound of a GJ guitar? Or would it sound the same as a regular fully acoustic guitar would, just now with the ability to go electric?

On most guitars I don't notice much muting of the acoustic sound...but there is probably a bit. But you can always take it off when playing purely acoustic. Takes all of 5 seconds to get it off.

Often when I perform I just turn the Stimer on for leads and turn it off for rhythm...still plenty of volume for rhythm with the pickup on.
