No @ChrisMartin , the moustache goes on the bridge, not the fretboard extension. 😂
Well if we want to be pedantic, it goes on the top, NEXT to the bridge, but hey, as long as you do not stick it on old Mona its all ok.

Sure Buco, here's the way I use my micro manouche on my Altamira M-01D:
Note the tiny dab of putty on the now-infamous fretboard extension. I also have a thin dab of it under the pickup where it meets the top of the guitar at the bottom of the D-hole.
I struggled with the preposition there. I think I was just going for parallel construction with your comment (on the ML....on the bridge) to make the joke. Also had kids wanting my attenion....but, after living in several different countries with differing languages, including the UK, I'm prone to confusion on the details. It was all just for fun anyway. ;-)

Funny though isn't it how we mean one thing and another reads it as something else?
We have all been there, and as an Englishman living in Australia writing on a forum based in USA it gets more confusing. I read somewhere once that "we are three nations divided by a common language".

Very true, Chris. And now that you have deeply engaged each of those cultures, you will have adapted some of your speech patterns and usage. People in Australia probably hear your English accent and identify you as a foreigner. If you were to return to England, if you weren't careful with some of the grammar constructions or lexicon you use (especially as it verges on slang or familiar expressions/metaphors), your friends there will think you talk "funny" or "like an Australian!"
Thankfully, as Andrew Wood once sang, we have music, which is "...the only international language..."
Sorry fellas, but I like the look of the extension. A lot. I think it adds an aesthetic to the guitar that makes it stand out, and certainly it screams “gypsy jazz guitar” like nothing else.

There are so many pickup choices that work well these days that either don’t use the soundhole or make minimal use of it, that the pickup shouldn’t be so much of a consideration.
I use K&K Definity under-bridge pickups on my guitars and I think they sound just fine. I’ve never had a complaint. I use one on my Derecho, Gitane D-500, and I plan to put one on my ‘96 Dupont MD.
Better a mustache then a big D hole. I'm talking guitars, not ML...

@croth I had a definity for a while. They are very nice pickups. Great feedback resistance. My only complaint was my 1st string sounded a bit thin. However, I use 10s and the acoustic sound on the 1st string is also a bit thin so I don’t think I’m being totally fair.
l remember the sound direct through my AER was appalling, but through a Baggs preamp it was really good.
K&k have a new version of it now
