I saw Stephane play standing up, too. I believe Stephane has an end pin on his guitar (not sure though), and not sure if he has a neck end pin or ties the strap to the headstock.

Note: Both of these designs can work for D-holes also, I think, if you adjust the length shorter (assuming the strap will adjust short enough).
