I am going to be listing my Altamira for sale soon. I don't want to sell it but I have a deal with the wife. If one comes in another must go. If one of my arch tops moves, I will likely take it off the market. Both guitars have their own sound and characteristics and they are both great but I have to keep the home fires burning.

It's an M-10. I love it but have given the Gitane a slight edge. The Altamira is probably more authentic sounding, but there is something about the Gitane I just can't put down.
Another GC find. A friend here spotted an early Dell'Arte long scale D hole, made by Luis Sevilliano, $1350. He passed on that one but just picked up birdseye maple Altamira with these new fancy enclosed brass tuners they started using. $1100 and was listed under classical guitara, made by Hanson Brothers with no mention of gypsy jazz or Altamira in the listing. I was really impressed with him finding that one. It's almost like some kind of internal joke they're running.

The birdseye maple Altamira is a nice guitar. I played one in Melbourne last year at Gerry's Guitar Gallery and I thought it was great. It's pretty too. It was 2800 AUD so fully priced, but a quick check shows it's been reduced a little now. The finish was lovely - thin polish on the top. The tone was well rounded and quite full, not the loudest but not bad either. 1100 USD is excellent!! Your friend has done well. I liked mine, the neck was really thin though. They were aiming for the transition crowd people switching over from electric

If I could get away with it, I would keep both.
I understand, I’ve had the maple gitane. It’s edgy AF lol
