Thanks, @stuology for filling in what I should’ve done. I actually got one right, not two ( thought the saxophonist was Benny Goodman, like an idiot) so looks like I’ll be having my Gypsy Jazz membership card revoked and be put on the banned list at Taverne de Cluny ( if I ever get there).
And, yes, @Buco I’ll have to invest in the Dregni book that I managed to read about ten pages of, a few months ago. I do like his style of writing too.
Wondering if we’ll have to wait another 51 years before Django turns up on Mastermind again… ( btw, the lady who won had the specialist subject ‘The flags of British counties’…🤷🏻♂️)

Ha, I knew Coleman Hawkins, I thought that was low hanging fruit?! All of these I know I read about at some point, (even though I couldn't remember most) but the one I don't think I ever heard was in which town they got married.

Yeah, I didn't know that city either. I'm pretty certain the name of the hospital was in the Django Hand on Fire graphic novel I read, but it wasn't anything I reserved special brain cells for. Maybe if I were to do a "Django Tour" in Paris, I would go to some of these night clubs, hotels, hospitals, bals musette, etc. Then if I experienced it, I might remember. But I did know Coleman Hawkins too and thought that was obvious, though I wouldn't have guessed the name of the song.
So I could try to learn all these things. Then again, there are always folks like Eoin who already have and may always know more than me. And I'm ok with my place in the world. Further, I did appreciate Eoin for facilitating Django getting some recognition on such a long-running show. Good on ya, mate.

Yeah Coleman was one of the easiest, and it's inconceivable that a jazz fan would guess Dizzy. Makes me wonder if he may have just misheard the "saxophonist" part of the question.

Especially since he said "Sax-off-inist" to rhyme with "wax off". One of those British vs American English things I guess, though you could tell when he said Diz he shook his head no knowing it wasn't correct. Probably a bit of the "spotlight" effect there. Kinda like when the red record light goes on and you all of a sudden feel stupid.
I got the first two questions - I expect we all did - plus the Coleman Hawkins one and the Chez Jacquet one.
