Interestingly the wood on the soundhole has deformed right where the strap hooks. But that has been there at least a year now (this picture is from last April). I suspect the guitar has been over humidified at one point. But that's a different story.
It hasn't moved since I've been using it a few weeks now, 3-4 days a week, usually 5-6 hours at a time. It's hard to know how much weight is it holding but these guitars are light to begin with and you're still supporting the guitar somewhat when playing it.
The strap I posted about initially doesn't have padding inside the hook (bare plastic) and the lacquer has chipped where it hooks. I'll touch it up. The one Paul posted about has a padded hook.
To give an update on the soundhole hook strap, nothing moved since I last posted and I use it probably around 15 hours a week like that.
The nicer strap that Paul posted about and I got, it's really is super well made and nice strap. Very well balanced. But, wearing it across my shoulder, where neck meets the shoulder creates a painful knot. I found if I move it out towards the shoulder so that the strap goes across almost literally the shoulder, removes most of this issue.
Stephane Wrembel's strap attaches to the heel of the neck, and of course to the endpin of the body.

Hey Buco,
You still using this strap? I didn’t see it DIJ with you or anyone that I recall. I’m about to order the cross body version with the padded clip. Am looking for more comfortable way to play, mostly if not entirely sitting. I’m concerned about deforming the grande bouche soundhole of my DuPont MDC50. I’ve also got to check if an inner brace will get in the way.
@Chiefbigeasy yes I am. I had it with me at DiJ, could've showed it to you. I use the Neotech brand, it works really well.
I just tried it sitting down and that works too, it elevated the guitar off the leg. The way it kinda balanced itself and settled in, the lower bout was above the right leg. You could shift it into the classical position too if you wanted to. I'll try it in jam, what I liked is it allowed me to sit back in the chair (instead of hunching over the guitar) while having the bottom of the guitar a bit away from the body so that the guitar was in a flatter, more of a supinated position, which gave me a better look at the fretboard.

Is it pulling on the side of the soundhole Buco? That's not a strong part of the guitar!

Anyone else still using one?
