Lets bring this tune into the repertoire, it always deserved more love in the swing era and beyond!
(posting here because this channel has no views and posting some sick Lollo clips in “YouTube kids” which sucks cause you can’t save or comment so no one’s gonna see it)

Lollo is a phenomenal player, among the best in the genre. He's got the tone, swing phrasing, super hoppity hippity chordal work, the whole package. Thanks for posting, I'm listening to his channel as I type. There are some older videos that aren't YT for kids so you can subscribe and turn on the notifications.
wow that is amazing
Lollo's channel is awesome. I can't really listen to gypsy jazz, but I can listen to this.
Been listening to his Rosas album all morning. I listened to this one a million times. It's phenomenal, both him and Tcha. He even makes the pick noise sound like a feature.
make thick picks great again
Rosas is a great album with Tcha. But also don't overlook the Hondarribia album w/Andre Donni on clarinet. There's some smooth sounds there, including Melody for Le Quecumbar, with which he got into the final round of the International Songwriting Contest in 2005. Out of 15,000+ entries, I think he was in the final handful of entries.
Listened to that one a lot too. Then there is Plachterida with Fapy
All amazingly good records. But that's a surprisingly low output for a player of such high caliber. Had no idea about the contest but I'm not surprised.
He cancelled scheduled gigs in Portugal two weeks ago for health reasons (tinnitis I heard).
That's awful. Tinnitus can finish a musician's career. I hope he bounces back from it.
