Greetings! I was woundering which is your favourite album in terms of best sounding rhythm guitar? Recently Pansch Weiß release Album with Benji Winterstein would be a strong candidate. Any other Suggestions?
@Jangle_Jamie Just listened through that Mandino Reinhardt album “Note manouche” and you’re right, the rhythm playing is like MIDI. Incredible. I’ll be learning these songs to play along, for sure! Fantastic album with beautiful Astor Piazzola vibes.
For something more modern and tight, I recommend giving Gonzalo Bergara’s New Hot Club of America album a try. The original GBQ rhythm section of Jeff and Brian are in top form, and the sound is percussive with a deep groove. I love this clean, no frills, all feeling, style.

Do you mean the recording quality or the performance?
Hi Adrian, I think a combination of both factors in the end. I guess it's very subjective.
A good question! I think Mandino Reinhardt's two albums have excellent rhythm and production.
I would also say any recordings with Dave Kelbie playing rhythm - he's brilliant. Combined with Angelo Debarre, they are a real force.
Thanks for making me aware of Pansch Weiss, I like that recording!
Although not an album, here’s three live vids from 2016 - Pansch (referred to here as “Tico”) with Favino Lorier. Two absolute monsters of rhythm.

MIDI is bad though. 🧐
I mean to say that his rhythm playing is so tight, it seems quantized like a MIDI track, not that the tone sounds that way 😊

For me, some of the lowfi old Hot Club recordings with Django & the gang are the best.
