I really think these guitars are special. They are very loud but also the tone is pretty refined. They can do the gypsy thing but also can do a really nice acoustic thing too. I think the clip from Fanou shows that they can excel for sensitive music with a lot of tonal variation as well as playing fast music in a group.
So while I like the sort of joke of the "Big Mouth" guitar it's not exactly the message I want to put out there.
But it also sorta works as a funny contrast to "petite bouche".
Oval hole doesn't really cut it as a description.
Open to further suggestions:)
Did you all see these guys? I was super impressed.
But why not keep it. You're already making a stand of sorts by skipping the mustache pieces. If you're going to keep the guitar in the model lineup, it is something that stands out, visually and with that name. It doesn't have to be obnoxious. It could be. But like with suits and dresses, sometimes people say "oh I could never wear that but so and so can pull it off". It's how you deliver the message of Big Mouth.

I like loudmouth myself. What's that in French?
"I was calling it the 'Big Mouth' for a while but that seems kind of obnoxiously American..."
That's hilarious! ๐
To be totally honest about it:

So much chops... I loved Fanou's vid, guitar sounded beautiful. Can I ask. what strings you have on there? 10's, 11's.
Bravo.
10s. I used to put on a 12 and 15 on the E and B but I don't do that anymore.
Big mouth is already there, no? Grande Bouche?
According to Google translate loud=forte in French. Forte bouche has a nice ring to it.
I don't know if Grande Bouche translates to the same thing that Big Mouth does in English, i.e. someone sort of obnoxious.
Grand Bruit I kinda like, loud noise, it's the name of a town I went to in Newfoundland a long time ago that had a waterfall in the middle of it.
Doesn't carry the same connotation of course.

Yeah true. People seem to remember it when I say it. Thanks for talking it over.
