I generally push up towards my head if bending on the b and high e; however, if bending on d through low e, I usually bend the opposite direction towards my feet because it takes less energy. That said, I usually only bend the b and high e anyway, rarely do the Joscho-style lower register string bends
Haha, I feel you Buco...honestly, the only player I can think of who consistently bends down is Joscho and even then that's only on the lower register strings.
Hahaha...thanks all. Not a trick question. It seems like I've seen others besides Joscho pulling down towards the ground on the B String, could be wrong? I never really considered doing that, not much room there :) but trying it some. Just wondering if that was really a thing.
When I do vibrato, which is finally clicking for me recently, I favor flooring it. Bending a note by pulling down the string (aside from low E and maybe A as well) feels awkward.

I would have said push up more than pulling down.

I never bend down.
Wait...is this a trick question??
