He didn't mentioned any gig bag, or the lac of one for that matter. I'm sure he'd packed it well, and at that price, I wouldn't ever think about complaining if it doesn't come with a gig bag.

It left customs last night. I believe its still in New York. The ETA is now Saturday. One day late doesn't bother me much now since I've been waiting for two weeks.

Cool to hear that there are more of his guitars in the US. I bet there's quite a few more that we are not aware of. I hope this one is brighter. The reason I changed my mind to a Busato at the last moment is because I heard a demo of a 40s Busato on the channel of the unnamed dealer and the highs are just glorious. Now, I bet a lot of it is the player and picking style, but yea, I do love the Busato highs.

I honestly liked each one I played. While they differed in their EQ for a lack of a better descriptor, they all had something recognizable as "risto". The ones I heard as darker sounding, I doubt you would think that they lack highs, they just weren't front and forward. The sound was just on the warm side. Certainly from that video he posted it doesn't lack in highs.

What would you say is his distinctive characteristic? I believe you said a while ago that his older guitars have more of an interesting character, while his newer ones are more direct Selmer copies?

They're closer copies more by the construction method. Heat bent top instead of forced top, traditional headstock joint etc... but some of these things affect the sound. So I did feel his recent build sounds dryer, more forward, probably projects better acoustically. While my guitar and the ones I played in Chicago had a sweeter sound, more overtones. They always have good attack, that single note pop, are very balanced and versatile.

Buco, Saturday came and went and the guitar is still not here. The last update was the 20th, saying inbound out of customs. Is this timeline familiar to you at all?

Here's the tracking if you'd like to take a look yourself. Maybe its still stuck in customs?

It has to in US customs someplace. When my guitar was MIA, I was eventually able to talk so someone at Chicago facility who was able to help get it cleared. See if you can call and find out who has it.

I ordered and received my Ivanovski in 2023. It was shipped via DHL and based on paperwork and my picture of it's arrival took about a month. DHL handled the entire distance. Was sent without a bag or case. Was seriously wrapped and arrived unscathed.

It wasn't easy to find out who's tracking number this is. Turns out it's Macedonia Post. Only one out of 10 or so tracking sites could figure it out. The good news is they have in the system as it has arrived to the States on 8/19. The last update says "the shipment goes to customs."

Buco, how did you get hold of them and who did you talked to? USPS or the customs people?

As this was in 2009, memory is vague. I believe I talked to someone at the US Customs. I remember it being straightforward, I got someone on the line and then then I was able to retrieve a guitar either the next or the following day.

Try calling your local Customs office and get the ball rolling. Are you in Seattle area as your profile indicates?
