Hi All! I'm a new member, but I've been reading this forum pretty regularly since 2014 when I started playing this style. I wanted to make a post about a solo-guitar Angelo Debarre tune called "Le Vieux Tsigane." I've always loved his solo playing and thought I'd take a crack at it. Here is his live version that I transcribed:https://youtu.be/pUFGsz5QSMQ?si=V1Z-UeonoWZFCHUH
And here is my version: https://youtu.be/HFxyb5CzLcY?si=K0H-mGPu7JlLfxdB
I'm planning on making/posting some helpful content on that channel (including a discussion of some techniques from this tune), so if you're interested and like what you see, leave a suggestion for future content. Look forward to meeting you all virtually/ in-person at Gypsy Jazz events this year!
Thanks,
Josiah

Really nice--thanks for posting!
Yeah man, it sounds great, really good job. Nice to see you around here too. Wherever you recorded has a super nice acoustic sound to it.
You're long time Django in June goer and if I remember right we were in class together with Denis once. Just us three in the room and Denis was saying something about how it's nearly impossible to keep the tempo metronomic. I gently disagreed and he challenged us both. So Denis started the metronome and we locked in the rhythm and then he turned it off. I think I asked you something like to sway your body as if you're dancing. After several bars he turned it back on and boom, we were still locked in. Denis paused and then said: well, I guess I was wrong...lol Do you remember this?
