Where would you recommend starting with Aleman's recordings?

After that, it depends what period of his career you're interested in. Personally, I like a lot of the later stuff were he was playing more modern forms of jazz. He even does some 60s modal stuff ala Miles Davis. See:

I also really love all his Latin stuff....this one is my favorite of all of his. It's only Latin stuff: Choros, Sambas, Tangos, etc.
