relacement for argentine strings

hi guys

argentie strings are not available in my country. I have to buy them from Germany. This is going to take while. in the meantime I want to buy different strings so that I can play until I receive argentine strings. What strings can work as a replacement for argentine?

    hello, rafal,
i had the same problem as you..
i'd say you should not put silk and steel strings, they will make the sound quiet and mellow.
argentine are silver plated copper wound on steel core without silk.
try d'addario gypsy jazz which are a good choice, maybe easier to find and possibly not inferior to argentine.
galli strings are silk and steel, so not replacement exactly but still they supposed to be GJ :?

if neither is available then try to buy silver plated copper wound on steel core separately from, say ghs, and try to match the gauge from argentine:)

or, order from michael a bulk set of 5 in a discount and wait... you will have lots and at the best price..

    cheers,
    panos

Look for Martin silk and steel, they should be easier to find and cheaper than most others. They don't last very long but I really like their sound and feel on my Dupont.
