Replacing a soundboard and fingerboard

ShawnShawn Boise, Idaho✭✭✭✭
I have an old Gitane D500 that has several cracks that I've already repaired. However, I would actually like to replace the soundboard and fingerboard as I've never liked the sound of D-Hole instruments (I actually want to cut my own soundhole design...and the stock fingerboard is just plain horrible). Anyhow, I'm game for experimentation as it's a guitar that never gets played and isn't worth a lot of money. Does anyone know how to remove the fingerboard/neck on one of these guitars?

I want to use the same braces and all that were part of the original guitar, but just replace a few things. If there is a good website that explains how to do this I'd love to know about it, as I haven't been able to find anything very detailed yet.

What about trying a pliage? You might have to check the neck angle though...
