ALD Electroswing guitar

Anyone have a chance to try one of these out? There is a clip on Youtube of Angelo Debarre playing one (the Angelo Debarre model) in the ALD studio.

I like the sound, but they are pretty pricey. Also it looks like he is switching sounds with some little box, not on the guitar. Anyone know what that is?

Notice there's two chords coming from the butt of the guitar.
I don't speak a word of French but he's pointing to the pickup and bridge and talking about "magnetic" and "Stimer" when pointing to the shiny coil. I'd guess there's a Bigtone in the bridge or some other piezo type element in the bridge. The sound changes of course when he reaches out and adjusts the box on the work bench and or uses the toggle on the guitar.
You can't mix the piezo and coil signals directly, so the switching on this guitar seems to be done both with a toggle (on the guitar) and/or some adjustment at the box.
We can't see if he's using separate amps for each chord but that's certainly an option. Like a tube for the coil and a acoustic amp for the bridge.

I've set several guitars up this way cept I use a single 1/4" stereo plug (he seems to be using 2 mono plugs). The stereo plug only needs one hole in the guitar to get both signals out.
Because of the impedance difference between the piezo and coil, the two signals have to be buffered (sent through a mixer for instance) before you can combine them in one amp with one mono chord.

The use of two mono chords (like he's using) coming out of the guitar seems bulky to me but would give you the possibility of a greater separation. Like one chord going to one amp on your left and one on the right.
Once he had it all set up on a stage he could just toggle either or both sounds using the switch on the guitar using two amps and no mixer.

I have essentially the same set up (in several guitars) but use a single stereo chord right out of these guitars which goes to a tiny mixer. I can then combine the sound into one amp or keep em separate into separate amps. The permutations in the set up of this dual pickup thing are endless, but essentially that guitar is using with two different kinds of "pickups" in the guitar toggled to two outputs from the guitar, and they sound like a piezo and a coil for sure.
    Wish I spoke French.
If Angelo were playing a Harmony flattop with no pickups the video would be of equal value.

You can do this to any guitar that you don't mind altering a bit.

Although you don't get a good look at the "box" it looks to me like one of these ?

that might explain the use of two cords ?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Anyone here read French?

The guitar sounds and looks cool. At 3400 euros it's not cheap!
