i liked the single coil...they both had similar tone characteristics to me...not the same but close enough.

Yeah, I got both and ended up liking single coil better. I called Michael and told him I was gonna buy both, return one and he was cool with that. I now use two single coils together, I'll show you that contraption when you come to town.
