@paulmcevoy75 I'll throw in behind the idea- it's super solid. The ease of use seems great, and a great way to have a back up for those gigs where a mic will just feed back. (we have a lot of them here in NYC to be honest - so a mag p-u is super useful). It seems like the idea works; and is just a question of how the amp is set & or the pickup choice . . . Frankly if you wanted to do this with a single coil you totally could. I'd use it (and plan to eventually lol!). One of my big reasons is that there are gigs I perform duo with my wife - some tunes on archtop, some on selmer style, some on classical. If I could eliminate a guitar it would make transportation to those gigs (again - NYC so mostly not driving) way easier. The BoucheBucker would be great for me. Always gear is a question of need and usefulness and then sound and feel. Long post shortened - I totally plan on buying one of these - I'd use it.
Paul - I like both the lead tonal quality and the rhythm tone on your latest video post of your guitar thinking about humbucker pickups and creating new concepts of your luthier vision. Good work man!
@littlemark gonna be forward with you, to say "sycophantic responses" about giving positive feedback could be taken as pretty insulting by us apparent "sycophants" like myself, wouldn't you say? Anyway, I'm not gonna wallow in the mud much more than to say you're entirely correct that offering valid criticism should always be a part of a forum like this but lord knows I personally wouldn't want to engage with you too much if this is the way in which you criticize people.
To be clear, in my initial post, I was offering my view in an attempt to be helpful. I still think it reads as helpful. It is not mean spirited and it indeed offers praise and encouragement where I think it necessary. I even suggested a practical solution to the ground wire problem.
In response, now deleted, Paul intimated I was a wet blanket. I find this characterization undeserved. Perhaps I am wrong.
I do not appreciate Paul's snarky and and sarcastic responses (now deleted and edited), and in turn responded similarly.
I find it very disingenuous that Paul has deleted host posts and or greatly edited the content. I understand your reactions to my comments. They now seem mean and non-sequitor.
I sincerely, try and use language carefully and clearly. I always look forward to critiques of my own work, When they are justified. I like to improve continually.
However, sometimes I use rhetorics to make a point. For example, I suggested IF Paul only wanted sycophantic responses, a public forum is not ideal. This is a rhetorical question, not an accusation of anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I look forward to reading them. Hence why I frequent this board.
I have listed my own work and recordings a few times. Surprisingly, with no responses whatsoever. Nothing bad or good. Perhaps you could call this sour grapes. There might be some small truth in that. However, because of that I have stopped posting my work. The only thing worse then undeserved criticism is no reaction at all. Why bother?
Perhaps, it is egotistical of me to assume people have an awareness of me, considering my previous post.
@voutoreenie totally fair response considering. Which is too bad because I think we have similarly taste. I think slim and slam are tops.
It is unfortunate, that this thread deteriorated. I love a good debate. However, I don't enjoy this type of sparring. It doesn't feel good natured.
Well, I certainly hope that you and Paul can move forward and fyi, despite my sycophancy, I don't harbor grudges either (especially over stupid petty online BS) so I'm sure we'll be fine going forward now that I've said my piece. Always happy to find a Slim & Slam fan as well so it's good to know you've got sophisticated taste as well ;)

Quick response, clearly you do give a shit. Because you appeared to be bothered by my response.
Ugh, again you edited your post. Making my response not concect with what you posted.
This is weird and creepy. I'm gonna bow out.
Good luck to you.

oh, and PAF pickups for gypsy jazz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tt1L6xwr_A&t=63s (if it's good enough for Justin . . . ) (and if I could play like those two - I would lol!)
This smoking Ben! Thank you.

Paul has shown us a lot of his guitars and playing here, we know exactly who he is, and he has 100% credibility as a luthier and guitarist.
"We already know what works - let's see what else might work...".
Littlemark, maybe you can show us a little something, too.

A beer and a hang at DIj would fix all that.
