Saga’s student model range is a real no-frills guitar but for the money it’s got a great tone. I always get a lot of attention with this guitar. Can be a bit bass-heavy on rhythm and I needed to dampen the tailpiece but the tone is really there. Also, it’s unusual to have a 12-fret D-Hole. This was my first proper gypsy jazz guitar. It came with the moustache pieces still in a bag. I had no idea what they were for so threw them away – I only found out later I should have glued them on! I’ve since got a new moustache for it but couldn’t bring myself to put it on, I’ve got used to it like it is and it’s funny how a small thing like this always gets some attention when I jam with it!
