Very slowly (because I keep playing individual CDs over and over) working my way through this box set, So far as I know it's a re-issue of EMI albums from way back. For some reason that I can't explain I'm working my way from the last disc backwards (the same way I read a newspaper) and I'm really enjoying Django's electric era which is new to me.

Don't know much about the sessions - the writing's too small for me to read and it's all in French, but what wonderful music.

That's great to hear. Don't forget the Djangologie doesn't have >it all< so there's still things to listen to! You're still missing 1951, 1952 and 1953 since it only goes to 1950. :) The box set is cheap and the recordings are good quality.

There's more of electric django in 1951, 1952 and 1953 including two performances with a symphonic orchestra, two live concerts with two different big bands and two live sessions totalling 9 tunes in a club setting. Otherwise there's electric Django in late 1946 (Duke Ellington), in 1947, in late 1949 and in 1950.
