What does the Gypsy Jazz community think about the play-a-long publication that David Stryker did for Jamey Aebersold - Django Reinhardt: Gypsy Jazz, Vol. 128 CD Album?

Choice of tunes - notation - recording - et cetera?

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Andrew.

I just went to the Jamey Aebersold website and it turns out they have a bunch of Django-related instructional stuff for sale.

It was hard to tell which ones were actual transcriptions of Django's playing, and which ones were modern players' versions of the GJ style?

If they are actual Django transcriptions, then these prices are extremely reasonable!

Has anybody here ever bought any of the Aebersold GJ stuff?
Paul Cezanne: "I could paint for a thousand years without stopping and I would still feel as though I knew nothing."

Edgar Degas: "Only when he no longer knows what he is doing does the painter do good things.... To draw, you must close your eyes and sing."

Georges Braque: "In art there is only one thing that counts: the bit that can’t be explained."
