been in a guitar store to play the Gitane DG300 and the Cigano GJ-10
in my opinion again the Cigano GJ-10 wins because:
1) with decent upgrades i think you got a very good guitar and it will match evenly with a Gitane DG-300
2) i can buy a NEW Cigano GJ-10 instead of a 2nd hand Gitane DG-300
3) i find the Gitane DG-300 neck too thick and got better playability on the Cigano somehow.
4) a new cigano is 400 euros ( $530 ) cheaper than a second hand Gitane DG-300, and for that money i can buy upgrades , a case , wegen picks and a nice setup on the Cigano.
the Gitane JJ model is a nice guitar and it looks awesome but the Cigano does nothing less and plays great.
so think i changed my mind and buy a new cigano gj-10 here on djangobooks
since djangobooks is cheaper with the cigano+shipping cost overal than any other guitar store here.
any tought about upgrades on this cigano gj-10 ?
i can choose allot of options when im in the ordering screen but dont really know what options i should choose.

If you're going to change just one thing then a bridge replacement is the most crucial. It dramatically improves the tone and projection of the guitar. The next thing would be the fret level as the fretwork on the Ciganos is a bit rough. There are numerous high frets which will cause buzzing, especially if you try to lower the action. About half of the Ciganos we sell have the full setup special done (fret level, setup, bridge replacement, and tailpiece leather.) if all those things are done the guitar will play and sound its best right out of the box. Our tech Josh has setup hundreds of Saga guitars and knows how to get them just right.
Buy an Altamira here, if you from Europe, its 600 Euro and the case is included.

yeah i think the guy who sells these altamira guitars on gypsyguitar.de forgot to put the specs in his shop ads, there is some info but not enough to say wich model it is.
i dont see any model numbers, i mean there diffrences in those 3 altamira oval hole guitars.
he only sells one but wich one thats not clear.
and 600 euros including case seems a bit low cause these guitars sell for arround 1200 pounds in england :S , strange isnt it ?

Actually, 1200 pounds seems very high, 600 Euros is quite reasonable for them.
