Nuages 1950 Recordng

Hello

Could some kind person please help me.

I purchased both Gypsy Picking Technique and Unaccompanied Django and thought while practicing the techniques layed out in the prior i would also try and implement them in a piece from the later. I have decided to try Nuages as it is classed for beginners.

Unaccompanied Django recommends the CD "Special Guitares Volume 2 1943-1956" for the recording of Nuages. I have been searching online now for a while with no luck. I did find it on amazon but it states that the CD has been discontinued. Could anyone tell me what other CDs the 1950's recording is on? It would be preferable if it also had Theme 1 and 2.

Hi James,

When the book was written that was the only available source. Since that time this CD has been released with the entire 14 minute [i]Belleville - Nuages[/i] performance by Django.

Hi! I've recently purchased a CD called Django Reinhardt in Solitaire which has all of his solo guitar performances. (However they have missed out tea for two). It's a worthwhile CD to purchase if your interested in his solo performance stuff and has only been released fairly recently.

The pieces you are looking for, the solo versions of Nuages and Belleville, with the improvised outro, are available on the recording shown below. This disk is currently available from Tower records (towerrecords.com), but they have low stock and the disk is out of print, so act quickly if you still need it.
Note that there are two versions of Nuages on this disk, including the solo version in Michael's book. The solo version of Belleville on this disk is the first theme from the book, and the second theme is tagged onto Nuages.
