Thanks again, Jazz. Thinking people ship their pets, I couldn't understand why temp would be an issue, but now I get it. Given the size of the planes I'll be on, it seems my chances of carrying on with a gig bag are considerably dimmed, so the flight case is looking like a pill I guess I'll have to swallow.

Somewhere I recall seeing something about the foam-lined case, so will try to find it. If you happen to recall the name, would you mind posting?

    Cheers,

    Paul

Hey all! I've been flying a bunch lately and my Hoffee case is amazing. Here's a post about it.

My Shopis guitar thus far has arrived perfect and happy and I don't cry when they tell me I need to gate check it. I will add that every time I pick up my case (it is white btw) there are new dramatic scuffs and bumps on the case. Luckily it's made of some sort of super strength carbon composite, but it is kind of amazing how rough some they treat these things!

So, yes Hoffee cases are a very worthy investment if you travel a bunch!

Thank you, Noah, and thank you all. After thinking on it a bit, and talking with Michael, just decided to chance a gig bag and a pitiful look. As much as I love my guitar, it is, after all, a DG-300 and not Django's 503, you know? :)

Noah, those cases seem wonderful and will keep this in mind for down the road.

    Cheers, everyone.

  • Look at the bright side if they bust it up you probably end up with a deposit on an upgrade :D

Yet another example of why you should invest in a good flight case...
