I was doing some sorting out of my photos and came across these black & whites that I took of Fapy & Tchavolo jamming at Birmingham, UK in 2003. This was a rare appearance of these 2 great gypsy-jazz artistis on the same stage, which brought back great memories, that I thought I would share.
cheers and happy holidays to all!

That video is great!!!! It is so nice to watch Tchavolo and Fapy play .
Could you tell me the name of the tune? Also I would give and ask for
opinions about what happens when you put two soloists together.
I think that a great guitar player should be a great backup guy when
he is not soloing, ie not stepping all over the lead guy either rhythmically,
harmonically or with volume. It seems to me that one of these guys is
quite good at that and the other isn't. I saw Dorado do it to Angelo
Debarre in NY and always wondered if these guys are trying to
screw the soloist up or if they are just unaware. I vote for the latter.
Any Thoughts

Is the tune Tchawalo Swing, slowed down? The one from Swing '93/Gypsy Reunion.
I think you're a great backup guy, when you're not killin' it out front, Tom! (I know you're not fishing for complements, I just had to say it).

I am grateful for the compliment now I am trying to figure out who this
mysterious Plankity is so I can send him 5 bucks this is the best press I have gotten in a while!!! Write me an email
I will listen again to see if you are right about the tune. And I am always
curios to see what people think about this question of being a good
supporter for a soloist.
Thanks Tom
I am glad it's not just me who thinks so. I still wonder why?
