was having the same issue with an overload of infomration on the web. There is just way to much out there and for a beginner to the style it's not easy to find a starting point. After reviewing the online academies I chose Yakov's Gypsy Jazz School. So far, so good. The lessons are clear and offer a great structure to build on. My suggestion is start here. He offers good length previews to all his lessons, which give you an idea of where you should start (I started from the begining, Lesson 1). Stochelo's previews weren't as indepth as i had hoped. Amazing playing and I am sure awesome lessons but, I like to know what I'm getting into before I pull out my wallet. Once i have a firmer grounding through Yakov's school I will give the RA a try.
