Hi,

The forum is subtitled : "A place to share licks and patterns transcribed from Django and other Gypsy jazz greats." but I thought I'd share one my own lick.
E7 Am

----------------|-12-10-8---------------|----
-----------9-12-|---------12-10-9-12-10-|----
---------9------|-----------------------|-9--
-12-10-9--------|-----------------------|----
----------------|-----------------------|----
----------------|-----------------------|----
It starts on beat 2 and finishes on beat 1 of the Am bar. All 8th note.

I visualise those shapes when playing

E7 (EMajor) : 12 11 9 9 9 X

Am : X X 10 9 10 8

Please let me know what you think about it.

I dig that C (8th fret, 1st string) on the second beat of the second measure--b13 against that E7 and it anticipates the Am chord quite nicely.

    Cool lick!

Try ending it on the C to really exploit the Am.
